Late 2001, Linus Ahlm, Peter Mike and Tommi Antikainen decided to start up Nordicon AB based on their years of experience in the consolidation industry. In February 2002 the office in Gothenburg was established, soon followed by offices in Helsinki and Oslo. Copenhagen office started up in 2004.
Today we are about 50 staff in the 4 offices.
Since start, the company has specialized in the consolidation of Less than Container Load (LCL) cargo, steadily building new services across the world. Neutrality and a focus on IT solution are cornerstones in Nordicon, which has been part of the success.

With services to more than 700 export destinations, Nordicon has the widest offer of fixed export sailings from the Nordic market. Every week we load directly from Gothenburg to the US, the Far East, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
From Helsinki we load weekly to Dubai (the Middle East), Singapore (SEA), Hong Kong (China), Charleston (USEC) and Chicago (USWC).
Import services are offered on a weekly basis from the US and the Far East, directly to Nordic ports.
The import service focuses on building direct service. As many as 25 ports of origin are building consolidation containers on a weekly basis to Gothenburg. These ports are served as hubs for many different origins, which have been pre-transported to the hubs. Today, Nordicon offers close to 300 import origins.
When import consolidation containers arrive at the Nordicon bonded warehouse, the cargo is "tagged" with a barcode and given an arrival status (Event Chain).
Event status is also given to the cargo when it is unloaded, when it has left the warehouse and when it has been delivered to the final destination. All this information is presented on Nordicon homepage under Event Chain.
The FCL product results from the buying power Nordicon leverages from the consolidation volumes using our vast network of contacts with our different shipping line partners. The volumes help us negotiate competitive ocean freights.

Nordicon Sweden focuses on building as many direct services as possible. This means that we consolidate Lcl cargo in containers, which are closed at our warehouse and are opened at our destination agents warehouse. With Direct means that the cargo is not handled or unloaded until the arrival at destination.
The destination port of the "direct container" serves as a hub for the trans-shipment to final destinations. These hubs can serve up to 100 final destinations each, and Nordicon Sweden offers close to 500 final destinations.
Track & Trace Upon arrival in our bonded warehouse, the lcl cargo is tagged with barcode and is given an arrival status. At loading, the cargo is registered in the bar code system. This gives it a new status which is then presented in Nordicon’s Event Chain (track&trace).
When the container has departed from the Gothenburg port it receives another, newer Event status. This Event system has a total of 8 different status, from picked up to arrived to final destination.

The focus in building direct service is found in the import product. As many as 15 origin ports are building consolidation containers on a weekly basis. These ports served as hubs for many origins which is precarriaged to the hubs. Nordicon offers today close to 400 origins.

The Nordicon Denmark LCL export product is focused on a flexible service, serving over 500 world wide destinations, with hub based in Hamburg.
We are in partnership with the GCA (Global Consolidation Alliance) and with Fairtrade in Hamburg, and all our export cargo is moved to Hamburg for consolidation.
We arrange pick up for a fixed price, which gives our customers a very easy way to calculate costs.
We have fixed departures from Denmark to Hamburg, both from Copenhagen and Aarhus every Monday and Wednesday. Friday is also an optional day if required.
